(1) The organizer is LAUNCH Rhein-Main e. V. (hereinafter referred to as "LAUNCH"). A participant within the meaning of these Terms of Participation is any natural person who registers for the LAUNCH Build Days.
(2) Participation in the LAUNCH Build Days is free of charge for participants and open to anyone aged 18 or older.
(3) By registering, the participant accepts the Code of Conduct of the LAUNCH Build Days as binding.
(4) If circumstances arise that make holding the event at the planned time impossible, LAUNCH is entitled to postpone or cancel the event, provided LAUNCH is not responsible for these circumstances. LAUNCH will notify registered participants as soon as possible in such a case.
(5) If a participant is unable to attend, they are kindly asked to notify LAUNCH as early as possible so that the spot can be reassigned.
(1) All intellectual property rights developed by participants in the course of the LAUNCH Build Days remain fully with the respective participants.
(2) LAUNCH claims no rights to the intellectual property created by participants during the LAUNCH Build Days. This includes both material and immaterial rights, in particular inventions, patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
(3) Confidential information shared by challenge partners must be treated strictly confidentially by participants. Challenge partners are the organizations that supply the problem statements which the teams work on during the event.
(1) The participant agrees that LAUNCH may take photos and videos of them during LAUNCH events. LAUNCH may use these recordings for:
(2) The participant grants LAUNCH, within applicable data protection law, an unrestricted right (in time, location, and scope) to use the photos and videos. The use carries no claim to separate compensation.

(3) Personal data is not shared with third parties without the participant's explicit consent, except where required to fulfill the association's purposes (e.g. sharing team rosters with challenge partners for the jury process) or by law.
(4) Data is stored only as long as necessary to run the event. After the event, data is deleted in line with statutory retention obligations, unless ongoing consent to storage has been given.
(1) The participant has the right to access the personal data stored by LAUNCH and may request correction or deletion of this data.
(2) Consent to image use and data processing may be withdrawn at any time, in whole or in part, by emailing [email protected].
(3) If the participant does not want to be photographed or filmed during the event, they can inform the LAUNCH team at on-site check-in. To make this clearly visible, they will receive an identifying marker (e.g. a red lanyard) from the LAUNCH team lead.
(4) In case of withdrawal of consent to image use, LAUNCH commits not to take new photos or videos of the participant, to stop using existing recordings, and to remove published content where possible.
(5) In case of withdrawal of consent to data processing, LAUNCH commits not to collect or store new data from the participant and to delete the corresponding personal data, unless deletion is not legally possible.
(1) Both parties commit to treating all confidential information (in particular business and trade secrets) that becomes known during the event confidentially and not to share it with third parties. This information may not be recorded, copied, shared with third parties, or otherwise used without the express written consent of the disclosing party, unless required to fulfill contractual obligations.
(2) LAUNCH and the challenge partners further commit to binding their employees and any third parties they engage to this confidentiality obligation.
(3) In case of a breach, LAUNCH reserves the right to remove the participant from the event and, depending on the severity, to pursue legal action.
(1) Participation is at your own risk. Every participant is responsible for their own adequate health, liability, and (where appropriate) accident insurance.
(2) LAUNCH is not liable for damages incurred by participants in connection with their participation in LAUNCH Build Days, unless these damages result from intentional or grossly negligent acts by LAUNCH, its legal representatives, or its agents. This liability exclusion also applies to damages caused by the participant's intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty, or by a culpable breach of fundamental contractual duties (Kardinalpflichten).
LAUNCH may remove participants from the event in cases of violation of the Code of Conduct or these Terms of Participation.
German law applies. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms is Frankfurt am Main, to the extent permitted by law.
Should individual provisions of this agreement be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a regulation that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision.
